A beautiful day for playing football, sun shining, birds singing and a sense of optimism engulfing all of humanity. As always there was a sense of foreboding, Americas continuing quest for global hegemony, environmental degradation, rapacious capitalism, the erosion of society’s fabric by our slavish devotion to consumerism; all exerting their influences in an attempt to detract us from focusing on the match.

The last game of the 2007 season, Bergum is the opposition, Peep Peep and we are off. Blah blah blah…defend…blah blah…attack…blah…injury to Robin…bring on our 1 and only sub…change players position…blah blah blah, blaaaaaah. Run around, run around, run around, defend, run around, jump up, jump up, to get down, run around, attack, Christian gets kicked in the head, blah blah blah, tackle, tackle, ohhhh they nearly scored, run around, blah blah…goooooooooooooooooal, martin b with his back to goal, outside of the boot, in the net and it’s 1-0. Blaaaaaaaaaah.

Half Time Tactics talk….keep it tight.

Peep, second half under way, we kick off, Iain gets the ball and kicks it straight against the opposition player who runs on and scores!!! Ten seconds (maximum) after kick off and it is 1-1. Tight yeah right! Do you really need that home entertainment system? Why drive your car in town when there is public transport? Who is regulating the financial institutions and to whose benefit is it all? Do you care…what do YOU do? Seriously, do these questions even matter! We are all going to die, we are only here for a short period of time and have an obligation to leave a better place than that which we have inherited. Blah blah blah, run around, Simon scores a goal and gets injured (again) 2-1. Run around, it’s a lovely day for playing football. Tony W scores and absolut screamer…a really nice goal, smashed beyond the goalkeeper from 25 meters, 3-1. Tony W misses a sitter and Bergum score straight after, 3-2. BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Tony W scores, 4-2. Run around, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, consume, throw away, consume, consume, destroy the environment, consume, consume…I don’t care, consume, drive, fly, live the dream, self contained, fly. Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. End of the season.
